Olive Oil
The olive
oil produced by "Uliveto Saglietto" is
made by a traditional milling process where the olives are pressed
between stone grinding wheels.
|
 |
 |
This takes place between October
and November and only olives which have been shaken from the trees
are used - not olives which have remained on the ground and become
bitter.
|
The olive harvesting begins when the olives are half black and half green,
which is the only way to get a non bitter Extra Virgin Olive
Oil. Once harvested they are taken within 48 hours to the
mill.
|
 |
 |
The olive oil is not filtered - it is purified by
being poured from one container to another, leaving the sediment
in the bottom. This preserves the natural, slightly fruity, almond
taste and the intense golden green colour - a pure and genuine
product.
|
After being pressed the oil is left for at least 1 month in
large stainless steel containers and then slowly poured off into
glass bottles, leaving any sediment behind.

Vermentino Wine
The vines that produce
our d.o.c. Vermentino wine are at Poggi, in a zone called "Ruggio"
(Dew), so named because a natural spring
makes the area very fertile.
At the moment the vineyard is being enlarged.
We produce a light, perfumed white wine that is ideally served
chilled with white meat, fish or as an aperitif. It's alcohol
degree is 12,5%.
